Client Services Specialist, Compliance (MHPAEA)

The Client Services Specialist supports MZQ’s clients by assisting with the development of Non-Quantitative Treatment Limitation Analyses, required by the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, for group health plan clients.  This position offers the opportunity to help group health plans come into compliance with federal requirements addressing coverage equity for mental health care and substance use disorder treatment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Work with clients and MZQ account managers to gather necessary health plan data

·        Review and assess health plan documents and data to identify treatment limits and assess health plan practices

·        Serve as a primary drafter of MHPAEA NQTL comparative analytical reports

·        Answer MHPAEA questions for internal staff as needed and escalate questions as appropriate

·        Research compliance issues as needed

·        Support other aspects of MZQs compliance services practice as needed

·        Use innovative and effective methodologies to support compliance efforts

·        Look for improvements to compliance services processes and procedures to support efficiency and growth

·        Other office duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

·        BA/BS Degree in Business,Economics, Political Science; Government or similar

·        Prior HR/Benefits experience aplus

·        Working knowledge of federal lawsand regulations and government report preparation

·        Working knowledge of governmentreporting websites

·        Excellent organizational skills

·        Extremely strong attention todetail

·        Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills and etiquette

·        Strong analytical, strategicthinking, and problem-solving skills

·        Experienced and skilled in computer systemsin a windows-based environment

·        Demonstrated ability to articulate clearlyand effectively

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid remote and in-office position. Our office is in Pikesville, Maryland.  This position reports directly to the Vice President of Compliance.  This job operates in a professional office environment, whether in person or remotely. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, andprinters.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Expected Hours of Work:

Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week, following an agreed-upon schedule.  

 

Travel:

Minimal travel is required.
