Our firm is helping employers and group health plans comply with the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act by analyzing their health insurance coverage and preparing detailed analytic reports newly required by federal law. We need some new team members to help us with report writing and related tasks, so that our clients all keep their mental health care and substance use disorder benefits on track! The job requires at least a BA in political science, government, public policy, English, communications, economics, or a related field. A law degree or advanced degree in public policy is a plus, but not required. Strong writing, research, and analytic skills, as well as attention detail are a must.
The Compliance Specialist supports MZQ’s clients by assisting with the development of Non-Quantitative Treatment Limitation Analyses, required by the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, for group health plan clients. This position offers the opportunity to help group health plans come into compliance with federal requirements addressing coverage equity for mental health care and substance use disorder treatment.
This position requires superior communication, analytical, writing abilities, and interpersonal skills. A commitment to teamwork, an eye for detail, the ability manage time, handle multiple priorities, and work independently are also essential.

Work Environment: This is a hybrid remote and in office position. Our office is in Pikesville, Maryland. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Compliance. This job operates in a professional office environment, whether in person or remotely. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.

Expected Hours of Work: Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week, following an agreed-upon schedule.
Travel: Minimal travel is required.
